Re: BC Racing availability
Someone enlighten me about what cars these don't fit? I have a 1979 1200 hatchback and a 1979 1200 trunk model.
Will these fit?
I already have the BCs on my 1983 and am highly impressed!
Where do you see an option for softer vs harder springs?

Re: BC Racing availability
They will fit your 79's just fine. Mine are in a 78 1200 (trunk). If its a street car go with softer springs. I have standard ones on the softest settings but will be buying the softer springs this fall. You can always adjust them harder if wanted.jonathan_ed3 wrote:Someone enlighten me about what cars these don't fit? I have a 1979 1200 hatchback and a 1979 1200 trunk model.

Re: BC Racing availability
If you have problems ordering, call the number. They are more than happy to run through it all with you. Just be sure to mention the website, a big part of this remaining viable for them to produce is for us to supply buyers... Yeah, I had 'that' talk with them a while back, mostly since I can't get all the money in one place at the same time...
Good luck, and glad to hear the 2nd gen are as good as the 1st gen are reported. Proper testing I'm sure.!.

They are a made to order item as well. Once you place the order they have them made (oversees) and shipped direct from them. They are a very well done set

I might drive this car 3k miles max annually. I haven't noticed wear yet, but I'm sure it's there. I've yet to put it on the alignment rack at work but I'm sure the alignment is FUBAR'd since there's little to no adjustability to correct alignment angles on these cars.
One thing I can tell you is that these coilovers are STIFF. Stiff isn't the right word - they're downright rough. They'll beat you up over every imperfection in the road. I'm sure it's awesome on a track, but for a street cruiser it's a little aggressive IMO.
Lowering springs on most Hondas are much more pleasant than these.
These feel like 8" drop on line auctions lowering springs that have a car riding on the bump stops.
I have no clue what the spring rates are, and I installed them as-is out of the box since I liked the ride height as installed.
I asked my sales guy if there were any spring options on these, and according to him, which he said was according to BC directly, there's no options on the 2g civic stuff like there apparently is on the 1g set. This could be wrong, but I have no reason to doubt my sales guy would deceive me.
I keep telling myself I'll play around with them to see if I can make it more comfortable, but in all probability I probably won't. it's been my experience with coilovers in the past, even from the "best" companies in the world, that generally you cannot gain much comfort compared to the out of the box settings. Of course we can dictate ride height, but sometimes more harm can be done than good by messing with the springloads too much.
Keep in mind, my car has a SOHC vtec in it, and it seems much lighter than the stock motor. That could be a huge factor in the rough ride since there's less weight over the front end.
I may look into custom spring rates in early 2016. I'll be busy the rest of this year trying to finish my ls1 s2000

They are standard 2.5" I.D. springs are they not? You can get springs in literally any length and rate you want off-the-shelf from any number of manufacturers around the world. Getting the current springs measured to see what the rate is should be no big deal and then just go from there ...jonathan_ed3 wrote: I asked my sales guy if there were any spring options on these, and according to him, which he said was according to BC directly, there's no options on the 2g civic stuff like there apparently is on the 1g set. A suspension specialist or spring manufacturer. Any halfway decent shop will have a spring testing machine.jonathan_ed3 wrote:Get springs measured where?
