Just waiting on the short shifter and extension to arrive now...

That looks correct to me, you just have to sand down the outside diameter to fit into your shifter bushing, wait though until its mounted on your new short shifter.

Absolutely

Without it you cannot put the short shifter in as the ball differences on the shifters are different diameter. It's easy to sand down the outside of that part.

As far as I know anyway that parts for a first gen and many of the other shifter parts are obsolete in Canada. :(

Thats why I rigged this mod up.

Can you see the difference?

the ball of the short shifter is bigger than the first gen?
how about sanding down the inside of the 1st gen bushing to fit the new short shifter?

Adam you could probably do it that way but it seems like more work...or at least a little less fun  especially since it has to be round. Trimming down the outside of the bushing seems much easier. :dunno

thanks kurt that's good to know!!!
:D

i worked on it this weekend, i used the stock 1st gen bushing and sanded down the inside with a dremel. it wasn't to hard but i'm sure it's easier just getting a new one. in the end it turned out pretty well. it feels great. it's a little short (changing gears with my fingers) 8) .

i'll post some pics

thanks

When I did mine it was simple to just roll it on sand paper, it could get messy and loose doing the inside of a 1stgen. I would rather have a new one from a 92 than butcher an old 1stgen bushing.
