Bob, just wondering... where did you get the stripes from? Did you get them made?

Re: Bob78CVCC Project
Yes, I had them made locally from a vector file provided by stephan ( koosjer55 ) .esolano wrote:Bob, just wondering... where did you get the stripes from? Did you get them made?
PM him for the file if you're interested. He will charge you $20 US for the file which you can provide to a local shop to make for you.

Bob78CVCC Project
Finally got around to refinishing the outside of the tank I picked up from Jonathan.
There was a fair amount of surface rust particularly on the top of the tank.
viewtopic.php?t=8989&start=470
Gently sanded down the tank to remove and treat the metal and rust.
Primed it with gray color zero rust and sprayed it with black satin Rustoleum paint.
I'll cover the bottom of the tank with the same rubberized undercoat to match the rest of the car.

Re: Bob78CVCC Project
The weather was nice enough to devote most of the day to working on the car.
The gas tank got swapped out and the parking brake cable was replaced.
Tomorrow, I'll put the interior back together.
Had to remove the center and upper console & back seat to replace the brake cable.
Had a very tough time removing the adjustment nut from the threaded portion of the cable.
It didn't help matters that the threaded rod was bent where the nut had to be removed.
The cable still needs to be adjusted.
Hoping to get the exhaust work done next week.
Will be replacing the B pipe and muffler.
Still need to rubberize the bottom of the tank to match the rest of the undercoat
or should I leave it as is?

New custom B Pipe and muffler installed.
I'll take some better pics when I get it all cleaned up.

Re: Bob78CVCC Project
The car made the round trip to the 2013 Carlisle Import Show without incident.
I kept up with traffic but didn't push the throttle too hard as the engine is still being broken in.
Refinished or should I say practiced refinishing my spare shift knob.
The other knob should come out better.
