So. Cal. junk yard finds

Postby ac1 » July 16th, 2011, 9:17 pm

Went out hunt'n today 7/16.

First three pics @ Riverside Pick A Part. Good bumpers, good rear panels, glass, doors, window regulators. Lots of misc parts. Headliner gone.

Last three pics @ Fontana Ecology. All the goodies gone but lots of good parts still there. All interior panels look decent, seats still there but will need to be redone, good glass, bumpers, engine compartment looked to be complete.

Dang. Makes me itch to go hunting. Was the Riverside yard the one off Pyrite? Only been there once. It was kinda teeny. I think I covered the entire yard in ~5 minutes.

Both those cars look really clean overall - especially, the first one. Poor things. :( Was it also a 5 speed?

Yes, Riverside is off Pyrite and yes very small.
First one is a Hondamatic.

Somebody scored that's for sure! Got me some nice 12" original beauty rings though!

Wow, very envious of the rich pickings out west. I might be in need of the bumpers for my 77. :)

Also, if someone is heading back to the JY, can you kindly grab the front crossmember bolts off of the 78-79 Civic (10x115mm)? :D

Yeah, what Bob said.

Hey - what day did you pull the bolts? any idea if the cars are still there, or if there are any other cars since then? I have a friend in SD looking for a rear crossmember and if that part looks good, he might make the drive up. :)

Which one is he after? I'll probably make another trip out there either later today or Sat morning. (Fontana/Riverside)

Monrovia Pick-a-Part: 7/28

75 civic still sitting in the parking lot. Should be in the yard by next week. I've been keeping an eye on it.
