Hood Not Sitting Flush

My 77 hatch hood will not sit flush the backside nearest windshield is high. But ive noticed in pics of other cars the same thing is this the norm or a lot of mal adjusted hoods..

Common, I have always held that this corner was the place where everybody would grab and lift the hood and gave it a twist. This is just my opinion but I still think most of the hoods and doors are the fault of the people and not the car...

The rubber vibration dampners on the hood contact the body posts and i cannot adjust the hood flush its up about a half inch.If i take them off i can adjust it flush but then its metal to metal.

Is there any sign that the hood has ever been off the car?

I've had it off and it's probley not the original hood

Did you notice any looseness in the hinges allowing it to move up and down? I found this on mine and slotted the hole to allow for it and it helped out a lot... I think a replacement would be better, but we'll see.

It's flush at the front just not the rear. Hinges are fine.

If you figure it out let us know, Aside from bent parts I can't think of anything else that might do that...

Great, now every picture I look at I am checking for hood alignment...
