1974 desert rat...

Postby runningman48103 » December 30th, 2016, 8:45 pm

Just rescued this 1974 Civic 2DR from the Arizona desert. According to the license plate, bought in 1973, last registered in 1979, been sitting unloved for 37 years:

It's a bit of a roach but it is complete and only has 50k on it.

You are correct: no title. But, the glove box was stuffed with enough information that I know the name and address of the original owner and I'm going to get the State of Arizona to issue a duplicate title.

Really, really nice; mine will never look quite as good. That's by choice: I want to go racing. Full roll cage, either the D15 and 5-speed out of my rust bucket '86 CRX (think Autocross) or, possibly, a B18 out of an Integra to replace the back seat and turn it into a rear wheel drive rocket...

I love the clean look of a trunk model.
Being very creative on the wheel size, solves the problem of sourcing 12" tires, you can make them what ever size you want.

I have to ask, what is the purpose of plywood wheels?

wow I am so jealous, a 2 door. they seem to be made of unatainum here in Australia. the lightest model, strongest body/less flex, I am told. a full 270 kgs lighter than my 84 shuttle. and a Huh of a lot stiffer. soooooo jealous. :D
