First Generation Honda Civic 1973-1979
Its amazing what a brush with fame will do for the most ordinary objects. Ed "Big Daddy" Roth was certainly an integral part of the hot-rodding scene, and he went from pin striping to building full-on custom cars and back to striping as his career progressed. This little Honda was the perfect transportation, t-shirt sales shop, workbench and advertisement for a journeyman striper with a name that preceded him. The history of this car is fascinating. Roth allegedly used this 1979 Civic to haul his custom airbrushed T-shirts in a tagalong trailer. According to the description of the car, the hitch for that trailer remains on the car, as does the lettering and striping done mostly by Roth, with some additional touches by Kenneth Howard — better known as Von Dutch.
