Michael Bradford’s 1978 Honda Civic 1200

I’ve had the car for about 5 years now and spent a good part of 4 years rebuilding it to the standard that you now see before you. I bought it as a $400 ex shopping car and started pulling it apart almost straight away.

The first rebuild that I did took about 12 months and I painted it myself in red, had the engine conversion done, got it about 90% complete then decided that I wasn’t happy with the result and started pulling it apart again. This rebuild has taken me about another 2 – 3 years.

I got it professionally re-sprayed and spent a lot of time trying to make it as neat and clean as possible. I finally got it engineered and took it to the rego authorities. The car passed with flying colors even with the amount of mods that have been done. They were impressed that I had spent so much time trying to ‘get it right’ so it would pass. The result was worth it.
