i was reading through some threads and someone mentioned that mugen carbs are acually bike carbs. so, will honda bike carbs fit on 1st generation civics? do you need a special adapter?
i saw a set of cb200 carbs on ebay, here the pic:

If those carbs are off a 200cc bike, they'll be nowhere near big enough to run a Civic.

You'll probably find that some of the larger capacity jap bikes with quad carbs will do the trick. The hard part however is getting an inlet manifold that will fit. There were some manifolds made at one stage that allow quad Keihins to be used, but good luck finding one. If you just want twins, you're better off trying to get your hands on a decent pair of RS Keihins complete with manifold etc.

A while back I did some math and figured out the "cubic foot/minute" requirements for a 1200 Civic at 6500rpm's. Long story short, the carb setup for a 750cc or larger would do fine. I believe a 600's to be a little small for maximum top end performance. By the way, these "recommendations" are for late model bikes. The rpm number I used for the bike formula was 11,000rpm, which is the redline for my 500cc Ninja.
The manifold is the pain though, it's why I've never fitted the GSX-R1100 carbs I have to my own Civic.

Would those 1100 carbs be for sale?? Are they complete? I've a degree in welding and i can get all sorts of aluminum manifolds here

There is a probability that I may soon have to sell everything. I have not exhausted my options yet.

Until then, not yet.
However, yes they are complete. Plus, I have the bike manifolds as well (clamp to carbs/bolt to flat surface)and they use a cable choke(stock Civic should work).
