There is an arrow on the head and Also an arrow on the timing belt pulley. In addtion the pulley has an "UP" words on it. According from the dealer book. It is written as the "UP" has to be on the top. And the arrow on the pulley has to be alligned with the head. Do you know anything about it. Please let me know asap because if this is set up incorrectly, it will demage the whole engine. Thank you so much!

Ken, The other guys who have done this will know about those marks, as I do not.

But I can tell you that if you rotate the cam pulley so that the two marks are in alignment with the top of the head (looking straight on), that the #1 valves are both closed and the cam lobes are pointing downward and the #1 piston is TDC (right mark on crank pulley in alignment with arrow) you are not going to damage the engine.

Ken,

What you have described is exactly what you do. Just make sure that the engine is at top dead centre (crank pulley right hand mark lines up with the pointer), make sure the cam pulley is pointing "UP", and that the mark on the pulley lines up with the mark on the head. Then slip the belt on and away you go.

Depends which motor you have. Some line the marks on the pulley with the level surface of the rocker cover gasket surface. Others aline the two arrows.
