what were the mods on the RS model of the civic in comparison to a standard?
what block the RS's were based off?(eb1,2)
was there any boring, bigger pistons, diff. rods, etc?
any head differences?

what was the cam's specs?

any suspention/brakes upgrades?

any other apperence diffs?

what kind of hp did it get? C/R?

what kind of gas milage(on a well tuned engine, of course)?

any info any of you have would be helpful.
i'm thinking of bassically turing my car into an RS.

my logic is that honda knew best what would help performace with their cars, yet not sacrificing reliability and ecomomy(too much).

I have a set of the RS carbs, I bought them from some one off this board a year ago. They ran on the car but leaked around the filter base because a bolt hole in the upper shell of one o' the carbs is stripped out. If anyone wants them they're posted in the for sale section.

well, i talked to eric and he basically confirmed what i had already thought plus a few appearence things that i didn't. he didn't know anything about the cam specs, though.
in reading some threads i have found 2 diiferent answer to this question:

stock hight and 5 degrees longer duration than stock
and
stock hight and 15 degrees longer duration

which one is correct? the 5 degree sounds more hondalike to me.

The thread I posted with cam specs came directly from our Japanese friend Tsuyoshi, so I assume it to be correct. You should e-mail him with all your RS questions. He does still have one after all. His English is very good and he is very helpful.

on trunk where the later ones have the "Hondamatic" or "5speed" badge
on the dash where the later cars have the "CVCC" one

RS has instrument cluster with tach graded to 7k rpm.

Center auxiliary pod has two gauges AND an air vent where the
US deluxe ones merely had the two guages for fuel and temp.

Wooden steering wheel

Black vinyl interior

RS stands for "Road Sailing"
