I tried downloading 'addkiller' from PC.com off a thread a while back and i'm still having trouble with my pc. (somehow things got screwed up....only could happen to me) Maybe Richard should try a new server? I'm not sure how that stuff works.

While I am annoyed the pop-ups too, it's these companies that are paying for the bandwidth. Small price to pay. It's easier to click on the "x" than to write a check.

When I mean I was being attacked by them I really meant it. When I got off this site I must have had 50 of them open on my taskbar. That has never happend before.

The best way to deal with the ads I've found is to just move the popup window to one side (right off the screen, but don't close it). If you close it, it'll keep popping up in front.

LOL Maybe get a Mac... All the adds stay in one window and a mouse click on the main window puts it in the background instantly Cool...."another" advantage to the guys who broght us the mouse. : )

The PC's must do the same no?

i just leave mine minimized on the taskbar and they tend to stay there..
every now and then one of the slippery little buggers rears its ugly head but generaly they are well behaved. as long as you dont close them they stay out of the way.

LOL slippery little buggers, good description. I would agree that it's a small price to pay for such a wonderful board that costs us nothing to use. Who is the creator of this great sight anyways? My hat is off to them.

My findings are that, while I'm opening windows, or following links, it is best to leave them be.

When I'm reading or posting I get rid of them.

If you close them and then open another window, or follow a link, they will re-appear.

If you leave them while you are reading they will "refresh every two minutes".

Best way of handling them is to go for the "Last Day" view of postings (or last week if you don't get on as often as I do), open all the posts you are interested in (right-click, "open in a new window"), close the pests then read, read, read.

BTW, they are annoying, but I'd rather have them than not have the board!
