Hey New Zealanders!! Geeze I'm getting the feeling I'm alone on this side of the world with my passion for the first generation Hondas. Come on ppl I see 100s of them on the road each day but all run down. Can any other kiwi see the potential in these beasts? Sure the "horse power" isn't to die for but its better than planning a drive by the number of petrol stations you need to stop at. So hey my emails provided with my name I'm Christchurch Based and would like to hear from anyone out there in my country who shares my passion

Becks,
There's a few of us here in NZ. I live in Wellington. Mine is a 79' EB3 and it's a rally car. It had done 15 rallies when I bought it and I have just done my 50th event in it! There are a few being raced in NZ. (There is one in Blemheim) If you are ever in Wanganui, there is a fleet of them being used as rental cars! It shows you how reliable they are! In fact, it seems that there is at least one parked in every street in Wanganui. In a country that has a Government hell bent on ridding the road of cars older than 10 years, the EB Civic continues to thrive.

my first civic was a 76 with a 1600 accord motor and 5speed and that had more than enough grunt but you could still get from Auckland to Wellington on one tank of gas (try that in a skyline! or w.h.y)
ps took some pics of my civ the other day when i have a spare hour or so i will have a bash at posting them........
you never know.

You know, I've heard that "disposible" crap out of a lot of "motor" people about these little cars, and my thought on the matter is that all cars are "disposible" cars . Otherwise all of at least one model built would still exist...not. No, what makes them disposible or not, is the person(s) who owns them, not some group of others who don't seem to see the true worth of a thing...any thing.

I can add a few to this. I have an ex-works (Honda NZ) 1975 rally car, a track racer 1/2 built now and another 4 in a lockup awaiting conversion. We've got a huge stock of bits, gearboxes, Dellorto carbs, brand new engine block, around 30 pistons, 20+ cams, you name it.
