my car is makeing this odd kitity klat kat kat type sound. like 2 peices of metal hitting each other very quikly. its not constantly, but every 10 or 15 seconds. also the no. 4 cylander plugs gap was totally in. i just changed the carb. i might of dropped something in there and not realzed it. has anyone evert had this happen? drop something in the manifold or gotten a sound like this. am i going to have to pull the head?
would taking out that plug and fishing around in the cylander with a large magnetic srewdriver be a bad idea? i could get one of those telescopic magnetic end thingys that are made to get stuff from tight places. any info would be greatly appereciated.

You either dropped something into the cylinder, or your valve guide slipped down. It is common on the 1200s and would explain all the running problems you've been having of late. Try the spark plug/magnet, and if that doesn't turn up anything, do a compression test. Sometimes if they go far enough, you can take off the valve cover and see the guide has slipped.

if there are little bits in the bore give it a quick run with that plug out...but DONT stand in front of it!

get this, the adater kit was sopposed to come with new shorter intake studs and lucky me, i tightened my carb down quite a few times, resulting in a bent secondary valve. remember my throttle sticking problem and the infamous vacumn leak? found this out through a shop down the street after yesterday when i got fed up and took it over there. $300 later i have running, driving car. i need to research these things a bit better next time. if i had only had those studs in the first place...
