Hey all you wrench heads, I got a question for ya. We're completely ready to pull the head off of "Fighter," our '76 Honda 1200. The only problem is we haven't received our shop manual yet, and there's a hose running from the brake master cylinder to the intake manifold (which is being removed with the head). We cannot decide why this hose is there. Is it a pressurized system that charges from this somehow?
Anyway, can we just jerk the little hose off, or do we need to drain more fluids (just drained the radiator).
As far as we know the entire thing is completely stock. Thanks for any input.

If you mean the rubber hose from the booster to the inlet manifold, that's the vacuum line for the booster. Just pull it off.
It's not a pressurised system, it's a vacuum system. The brake booster uses manifold vacuum to assist in braking (reduces pedal pressure).
