Lately my clutch pedal has been sloppy. It wobbles from side to side and is very loose where its mounted. But it operates the clutch ok. Anyone know how I can tighten it up? could replacing the plastic bushing in it with a new one help?

Have you stuck your head under the dashboard and had a look to see where the play is and what might be causing it?

I have replaced the plastic bushing before and it didn't seem to get any tighter.

The play is where the pedal goes onto the shaft, the one with that retaining ring. I tried putting in more washers, didn't help. The rest o' the pedal assembly is tight, it's just the clutch pedal there at the bushing with the play. I would like a prompt response, as I must drive the car 50 miles to school n' back daily. Thanks, Tony T.
