I'm replacing rings on a 1200 cc 1979 civic engine and have no manual. can anybody help me out? I need torgue specs, bearing clearance specs, ring clearance specs, and maybe a blow up if anyone has one.

A manual can be had for only a few bucks, and will save you lot's of time with other questions that will come up. Check eBay for the Haynes manual. Quite good, and plenty are available.
Don't be put off by this. Hard work and good research will pay off if you are rebuilding a 1200.

thanks, I'll look on e-bay. i was just hoping to get some now though, so i wouldn't have to wait for delivery. I'm doing it at school and neither shopkey nor alldata go back past 82. the closest thing we have is a book for a 78 accord, which isn't close enough. if somebody had a manual and a scanner.....
i just got the crank out. it's bloody amazing that things not wrecked!! one of the main bearings had a pretty big chunk missing out of it! not a scratch on the crank though. another thing that's pretty strange is the pistons look like they're brand new, compression rings too, but the oil rings are shot.
