Ok guys, I have a '79 Auto. Anyone ever decided to use that perfect air intake scoop on the bonnet of the later civics. To me it's wasted as is, I had thought of cutting a hole in the firewall and connecting the airbox to it via a hose/pipe.

Does anyone know if this increases air flow enough to justify cutting the firewall (Is it legal??) And if it does, is there any HP gains?

Perhaps I would be better putting a pipe from the airbox to the huge gap behind the grill?

Also has anyone ever considered swapping a Starlet GT engine into it, the scoop is already there, prob need to cut the firewall, and move the bonnet latch though...Would be an interesting swap if it worked.

Any thoughts??
Any thoughts on the subject
