Heres a few pics of my CamTech Cam and standard rocket arms... This photo was taken after the engine had done about 2500kms...

Anyone got some ideas on what caused this and how to resolve the problem?

I am using Mugen Spec valve Springs, camtech cam and the reat of the head is pretty much standard...

Yo Mike, your pictures are classic higher mileage
1200 wear. I have purchased replacement rocker arms for this same problem. The new rocker arms are the newer style. What I mean is, not a nickel plated face on the arm but a actual " puck, chip, plate" whatever you want to call it, welded on. Some of the older cvcc's had them , but only on a product update from Honda, to solve a problem on premature wear on #4 cam lobes and rocker arms. HELLO HONDA 1200's have the same problem too!!!. But to late to cry to them now. So wallah.... we have newer style rockers to go with our current technology metal hardening techniques. longevity should be no problem. Also, get the rocker arm shafts to go with them. should be a nice addition to a even running 1200!!!

the interesting thing is that the engine had a new cam in it and its only last 2500kms of "nice" driving...

Ive used hot cams before but never seen this happen on such a young rebuild...

when you renew or change your cam you need to put in new rockers as well, if you did put in new rockers then poor oiling is most likely the cause.
i have seen before an aftermarket cam with oil ways missing altogether!! i am not saying that thats what this is just my thoughts,

Did you set the lash at Honda specs, or did the cam manufacturer recommend their own clearances?
