Does anyone have a EB3 1200 cylinder head laying around that has not had the head "shaved"? I need the thickness of the head measured along two or three points on the exhaust side and the intake side to determine if too such material was removed from my current head. If too much material was removed and compression ratio is too high I fear for detonation. Measurement must be in thousandths. Anyones help would be greatly appreciated. Can't find a good used head in my area. Best price I found for a new one is about 1,150.00 U.S. dollar through Majestic Honda.

Can't a friendly dealer look up all those measurements for you?? It is some work for them, but if you find one guy that digs first generations he'll do it! I have been blessed with such a person working at the parts-section. It seems every year it gets harder for him to find the old parts, as systems are computerized and the old Honda's forgotten. But I think it's their duty to help out someone who keeps their history alive! I hardly buy parts there ($$$$), and for this reason the sales-department isn't my biggest friend. They're a bunch of jerks anyway, who don't care about cars, let alone a specific brand. I'll try out your question on this guy, which is the overall original height of the head....right?
I'll get back to you.

There is a couple of brand new EB3 heads for sale in Australia for around $400AU ($200US) each. The advert may still be on the NSW honda car club page (Adrian's).

Oh and by the way, if the dimples on the bottom of the head have not been shaved you will be fine as far as detonation. Honda have given a fair margin for that.
