Take a look at this Mini site. Ya ya I know its not Honda but I just found it interesting for some ideas for my car. Check out the interior of the one mini. Cool!!! The Cowl induction hood would look interesting on a Civic. What do you guys think?

Sweet minis, but after all that time and $ to make it look modern they could have bought the New Mini.

Heh, but that's not the point. What would our wives say if we didn't have projects like these cars to keep us busy? ;)

I have to confess to all here, that I was originally going to "find" a mini, and restore it to sterling condition. I found no such cars in my area after looking for months. I did get a chance to speak with those who have made their passion these cars, and they spoke of the money involved. My first Autocross event I attended as a non-driver had a young man who had restored his mini to top-race form. It was a beauty to see.

That's when I found out about the 1200.

The rest is history.

Dude! Those look sweet! Nice flare-kit on those, I'm hoping to pick one up soon for my civic and then get a paint job. Currently its a 1200, but I'm swapping in a special-x engine, 5-spd tranny 6-spoke mags, and alarm system. All that with my pristine interior, and inexpensive(but nice) sound system ( cd player, 2 6x9 sony explodes with 8" powered bazooka sub), my car is gonna be rockin!

PS. does anybody have any ideas where I can get the special-x decals for my car??? the ones on the special-x I'm getting are pretty faded and not easily removed. Anybody know???

We have mini's all over the place. They are cheap, both to buy and to equip with all kinds off kits... There are all kinds of clubs, and so on. Down here an old Honda is a much more exclusive car on the road. I have met 2 other first generations on the road in 5 years!! I have heard that they have all been exported to countries like Iran. Still, I love the Mini. We can all go on about brand loyalty, but there are other cars out there that deserve respect. That is what we like to get from people driving other cars, so hey..
I like to hear the good people preaching though, it's from the heart and that's a good thing. I hereby admit also having fun driving other cars that are not Honda, and sometimes, they're not even Japanese...! I still come back to this site to get straightened out.

I can dig it...I've been watching the Mini guys for some time...we can learn a lot from them. But they are lucky to have the support in parts etc. that they possess. We have a vastly superior canvas to start with, however. I suspect that's why our very own Civic Guru also owns a Mini he restored...check out his website if you haven't already.
