There is an ex competition RS civic available for free. The catch is it is in Japan. This is a mission of mercy to prevent the crusher obtaining it.
The RS condition is,
*He used off road (flat dirt) time trial racing.
*rally dumper inside.
*Body is very rusty. fender have some dents. floor have hole.
*Rare genuine Honda cast wheels made by Enkei.
*roll bar
*Motor and transmission is good condition.
*No front grill.
Anyway cost is that of shipping and handling to the country of your choice. Prices for this are being worked out as we speak for US and Australia.
Charles
Email me if interested.

The car must be taken by tomorrow as the guy is moving and can't take the car. It looks like shipping and handling costs will be between $500US and $1500US. Figure $1500 to be the outside.
The money must be paid to Tsuyoshi when he gets a firm quote for your destination. But he will need firm word by the end of today. Given the handful of RSs left in Japan and the fact that there are 2 in Australia and none I know of in the states this is a very rare little car and the ultimate factory first gen civic.
I would get it but there is just so much I have on my plate at the moment. I am just trying to help out you guys and Tsuyoshi.
I am afraid there are no photos but as I have said the body is cactus. There are plenty of good bodys around but very few RS drivetrains (high comp motor, close ratio 5spd box, factory twin carbs, different cam and rockers, factory 7000rpm tacho and 180km/hr speedo for a start. For those who want to be a little different in the US it is also RHD.
People scour the globe for all these prized RS pieces and here is a chance to get them all in one hit. You may want to go halves with people to get it and agree on what parts each will have before it lands.
First in first served. I have a list of people already and they will be offered this.
Don't let it die. Alternatively if you are very quick to nominate what parts you want Tsuyoshi may grab it and break it down for parts. As you all know storage space is relatively non existant so all parts must be spoken for and quickly so they can be removed pronto and shipped.
I get daily emails about RS parts and there is a high demand for them.
Racecraft has nothing to do with this offer (other than acting as a mediator) it is entirely between the new owner and Tsuyoshi.

I have pictures. There are 2 sets of honda alloy wheels with it. It is a bit sad but complete and it has the brilliant bumpers found on the really really early civics and the civic prototypes, the body looks salvagable . It must be a very old one.

WOW..... I have the same set of wheels !!! I never knew where they came from, but now I know. I got the set from the first civic sold in Canada (Dalt's Honda in Toronto - and it is still in their showroom!!!). My alloys are in near mint condition, a small scratch on one from a curb -- I think.
Still.... nice to know that my wheels were from an RS !!!!

How much to have the motor shipped to Oregon? If I did, I'd have to ask you to do me a huge favor Charles, I won't have the money for another couple weeks. Could you hold it for me? If the shipping's around $5-700 for the entire car, I'd take the whole thing.

Hi Jacob,
Yesterday, the RS civic owner had moved from Kyoto(middle of Japan) to Okinawa island(south end of Japan).
He said, the RS civic still not scrapped until end of June.
I still have his mobile phone number. I will ask him about your offer.

Basically the motor will be similar to ship (in terms of cost) as the whole car. Basically you go by weight and volume, most shipping companies charge per tonne so the civic would fit into the one tonne category for weight (may need a little bit for volume). To have someone remove the engine for you in Japan would cost more than the extra shipping..

Yoshi, or Charles,
Are there any estimates for the shipping cost for the entire car.
Yoshi, I e-a coumailed the company whose address you sent me. It's been a couple days and I have not heard back from them. I used the dimensions off of my factory repair manual (dimensions and weight), and added a little here and there for good measure. e-mail me with your thoughts.

I see this and i cry and wish i had 1500US$ i would scoop this car in a second.
bu alas i am a poor student who delivers pizzas for cash i really hope someone out there grabs this car as it would be a shame to let a piece of civic history get crushed .

Charles, I live in Portland, Oregon and I am very interested in picking up the RS if it is still available. How much would the shipping to Portland cost? When, where, and how do I send the money? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Kyle,
If you get the RS, I want to be kept posted on progress. I want it too, but don't have the money right now. Wouldn't that be sweet to have a Japanese Spec Honda Civic RS? I think it'd be awesome, go out and smoke a typeR. I really like these cars, especially since I have one now (not an RS). Well, good luck getting the car, Later
Jacob

kyle,
It is still available, Tsuyoshi has gone away on his honeymoon and will not be back till after the 20th. The cars current execution date is the 30th. If the appeals get through in time it could be yours. Figure on $1500US as an outside figure. Bear in mind an old civic in excellent condition and roadworthy will fetch about 7500US in Japan (I have a friend who rebuilds old minis and ships them to Japan for huge amounts). A restored RS is a damn nice car and worth a lot regardless of it's location.
It takes to much time to investigate each and every shipping inquiry so if you definately want it tell Tsuyoshi and he will give you his account details for a direct debit. Remember he is not back until the 20th. You may want to check with a few freight companies from your end; Osaka to your nearest port. They may be cheaper. That way you only have to pay Yoshi for shipping and handling within Japan.
Charles

Jacob- It definately would be very sweet to have a Japanese spec Honda Civic RS. I'll let you know what happens if I get it.
Charles- Thanks for the info. I have contacted a few freight companies and I'm still waiting to hear back for estimates.

Somebody'd better pick up this RS, I won't have the money in time, not sure if I could justify it anyway. But, is there plans in the works to have this car in the U.S? Somebody buy it, don't let it go to Civic RS heaven. Too uncommon, the enkei wheels too.
I'm begging you to pick it up, and I don't gain anything if you do, I just don't want to see such a classic go to waste.
Let me know if somebody's buying it, if it's on the west coast I'd love to drive and take a look at it.
