Hello
I'd like to revmove my 1200cc engine and replace it with an electric motor.
If I remove the engine, nothing will support the transmission. Does anybody know of a transmission mount that will fit on my car?
I have a 79 Civic with some interior mods. It can be seen here: http://www.geocities.com/ddechon/MyCar.html
Thanks,
Darrell

Cool idea, it has wandered through my head more than once. The bottom mount for the motor tranny combo is actually attached to the tranny. The transverse mount could be customised relatively easily. But, my question is, do you need a tranny? Dosen't an electric motor have a pretty even power curve? good luck.

It appears that my bottom mount attatches to the motor and not the tranny...
I guess the motor could be placed directly on the axle, but I'd like to keep the tranny and the clutch. The clutch is optional with an electric motor, but it does speed up shifting. Thanks, Darrell

Not to push the issue, but on my car, ('79 1.2 with stock block and tranny) while the mount is beneath the oil pan it is actually attached to the bell housing and not the engine or oil pan. Take a closer look.

After looked at the transmission for about the fifth time....I now think your right. I feel dumb but I'm glad I asked. I would've felt a lot dumber if I never asked.
It took a while to get back to this message but I'm glad I did.
Thanks for your help,
Darrell
