I bought a 1978 cvcc today and ran a compression test on it. 60, 30, 90, 70 psi respectively. I got the car cheap and thought I knew what I was getting into. Now I think I'll pull the motor and rebuild it and want to know if there is a rebuild kit for is car (pistons, rings, cam, bearings..). I would also want scrap all the emmisions stuff while I'm at it. I would like to drop it a couple of inches all around. I also need to know if anyone sells a header for this car.

Any help would be a appreciated. Thanks.

JC Whitney Catalog lists a few rebuild kits.

Page 199 of the new Catalog lists kits for the EB3, ED, and EF motors. They might have it on their website too. Local engine rebuilders can usually get any piston and any size.

I rebuilt an engine once. Take your time and make it fun. Don't stress over setbacks.

keep your eye's peeled on e-bay, as I have seen many come and go for the CVCC's and 1200's alike. There seems to be quite a few people out there that buy in bulk old Japanese parts to sell on e-bay for quite cheap. Good luck.
