I find myself with an extra set of springs for my car and was wondering if anyone knows how much lower my car will sit per spring ring that is cut off? Will the shocks have to be replaced or modified due to the shorter spring length?

Hey Super Force the heat and compress is ok if you have a spring manufacture do it, as they can retreat the spring. I just wanted to make sure your not telling people to do it the " backyard" way of heating the spring with a torch until the spring sags. That ruins the metal, makes the spring soft. Cutting with a cut off wheel and grinding a new flat seat is better. The best way is new Hi-po springs White Line http://www.whiteline.com.au/
has some HD lowering springs if you dont want to go the full coil over conversion. Shipping is not that bad to the USA Economy post. Contact them for specifics
Its better to match new spring with new struts or inserts for the best ride and handling. I think KenChe said someone was closing out some KYB's inexpensively a few day ago.
