why did you post on a first generation civic site?
1973 - 1979 is not even listed on your website !

I think a real site still having a few lamps is www.autobodypartsonline.com
I was lunched(!?) onto it after searching for not too long..so looking hard should give us much more..
It is in the States, there are still new bumpers for sale for like 30 bucks.
Go get 'em!

hey guys. I'm not sure if you gave these in your civics or not, but my sealed beam blew and I inserted semi-sealed headlights and bulbs to my '77 and it increases the light quite a bit!!

People on ebay sell headlight conversion kits for older cars like ours. That way we can use newer, smaller, and brighter bulbs just like new cars. When I'm on ebay I search in two ways. I search in the title and description for the following:

Honda Civic 197*

Honda Civic 1200

Ebay doesn't appear to be working properly at this time. I can see the right part, but it won't let me view the auction. However, here's a link to a 2nd Gen kit that is working. Try to search for the headlight kit tomorrow. It might work then.

You can buy aftermarket bulb kits from Hella, Bosch, Marshall, and Toucan(Ractive) They all use a H4 headlight bulb. Myself i have the Euro Ractive lights(Look like the WRX headlight)And they also come with a city light bulb(in blue) They cost me $55.00 each(cad.) you can see them at: http://www.toucanindustries.com/fulldesc.cfm?ID=855&CFID=222570&CFTOKEN=69517803
And here are the bulbs you can use:http://www.toucanindustries.com/fulldesc.cfm?ID=392&CFID=222572&CFTOKEN=45664033

I got a pair of eagle crystal headlights from JC whitney (17.00us each) Flat crystal lens, unique light pattern, 80/110w h4 bulb, but my switch heats up after 15 min or so. But not enough to melt.

Errol, add some relays !! If you look at the fusebox you will probably notice that the fuse that runs the headlights has started to melt into the housing..Just wire two relays near the headlight and use the original wires as the triggers and run a inline fuse directly from the battery..

wire the relay as follows:

pin 85--trigger input(low beam)
pin 86--ground
pin 87--fused constant
pin 30--output to your headlight

What kind of relays to use though? Do you have a vendor/part number you could give us?

Any type that can handle 30amps..Bosch, potterbrumfield, Racto, they all do the same job. Myself i use the Bosch units. You can find them at most automotive stores(Schucks, Al's)etc etc
