damn
Needless to say, I'm not in the greatest of moods today.

Hey Don, my email comes in, but nothing will go out. Go ahead and toss the parts you've been holding for me, I'm not going to be finishing the CVCC. I really appreiciate you holding them this long for me, thanks.

In fact, Anyone who wants it can have it for $200.00. It comes with a restored deluxe guage set, brushed aluminum dash trim, the new custom headliner and the "leather" interior. The car is still not a runner, but it can come with a matching parts car, if you want it. Parts car has everything needed to finish the project.

Some of this attitude may be 'cause I'm quite depressed at losing this car, and I may think differently in about a week....

Once I finish dealing with the lawyers and insurance (I might be SOL, hit and run,DUI,no liscense,no ins. fuck!) I'll be changing marquees.

Since I now work heavily to promote the VW shop I work in, it makes more sense to run a VW. I wanted to keep this one, and sell the finished CVCC, But those plans just went to hell.

I will give you the 78 1200 hatch shell. I was going to cut the quarters off it this weekend, just incase something like this happened to mine. It looks like you need it more, right now. You would have to drill out the spot welds and on the front radiator support and weld in the one from yours and presto! Cherry (like no dents, no rust this 78 was super clean) 74 shell. I think I can come up with a rear control arm too & we have the hatch I already gave you for the CVCC.
Can you tell I want you to stay Honda 1200? If you do decide to turn and go to the DarkSide (VW) :) I will buy all your 1200 stuff. The neighbors are saying my backyard looks like a Civic wrecker so I must make the 1200 shell disappear with in a couple of weeks. This was why I was going to cut the quarters off, I cant have a bare shell in the backyard.
PS my brother works in SanMateo he has a 56 VW bug and is looking for a good repair shop. He works as a artist for 3DO making video games, he cant do much on his VW except maintenance & I'm too far away.

You drove that car on the street? I thought you were running it just as a racer... not to mention doesn't look to street legal... Unless they let uninsured drunks into racing events now, hehe :)

I hope you didn't get hurt in the accident. Remember that the cargo can be a little more valuable than the vehicle. I'm sorry to see this happen...

On another note: If you can get the shell from Don and you need more parts just ask. There are a lot of people (including myself) who have a lot of parts sitting around. I'm sure we could come up with enough free parts to get you on the road faster than you think. It's just a thought. Start naming some parts and you might just be surprised what we've all got stuffed away in our garages. Good luck.

If you are serious about selling the cvcc I might be interested. Are you also going to sell the new brake set up? Sorry to see that happen to your car.
About four years ago someone hit and ran my 77 wagon. I had just finished the body work, new wheels, and motor. He took off 40% of my front end. Needless to say it took a couple years for me to get back into these cars. I still love'em though.

SHXX! Hate to see this happen to you, Charles! Let me know if you need any parts. Since we both live so close by.

DAMN! Talk about a good kick in the ass. Sorry to see that happen. I hate to see that happen to any good car, but a 74 Civic!
:(
Let me know if I can help with anything.

Hi guys, For those concerned, I'm fine. The car and it's equipment did a fine job of keeping me protected. I'm glad he didn't hit me any more solidly though. As it was, the car only rotated about 90 degrees while sliding about 30ft. The visible damage goes all the way to the seat mounts and, tweeked the front enough to keep the hood from closing. I did drive it on the street many times, going to and from events(to and from Oregon twice). This night was a VW get together (they loved it). While coming back home afterwards,I slowed to turn into a Gas station and POW! Plowed by a '89 Ford Taurus. I have the police report, now I just have to jump through all the hoops. The driver, was not the owner, so there may still be a chance for some reimbursment. Small claims, here I come. In the mean time. Yes, I am getting out of the Hondas for a while. More specifically, I'm getting out of the cars I need to store. I appreciate all the offers for parts, my problem is...I already have everthing needed to rebuild a running car. There's the '77 CVCC, its' '76 parts car, and a '76 basket-case wagon I've negleted for years. Add my '80 wagon and my '89 Ninja and I've got a pretty good collection going on. I'm also sleeping on the living room floor of my freshly divorced mothers' RENTAL CONDO. :( With the rents' in this area, I can't afford a place big enough to put all this stuff, so the best thing I can do right now is pass it on to other enthusiasts. Of course, if I come across a '73 or '74 2dr...;) MY EMAIL IS STILL DOING STRANGE THINGS. I receive, but I can't send. MY PHONE NUMBER IS (408)757-1197 DON, You asked first, which parts did you have in mind?

I will call you tonight after work. Its too bad that you will not be rebuilding right away. Seeing your car at the cruise night drags was one of the reasons I thought of a Civic 1200 when it came time to do somthing besides drag race. I hope you do find an early civic 1200. On the E-mail bit, IE 5.5 can be downloaded in about an hr from Windows Update website. I cleaned out the wrong files a few nights ago and had to do that before things would work right.

Ok, I've got the email up and running now. Somehow, the password stopped working (probably error on my part). First, for anyone in my bay area, there is a '78-'79 CVCC 2DR in the Pick-Your-Part wrecking yard on Trade Zone dr. Right near the Great Mall. I got your message Don, that'll give me time to unbury the blocks, cool. For everthing else, watch for the links to EBAY. I promise, there'll be no reserves. Just give me a little time. For the record, my new email address; \mail{res0i3jv@verizon.net,res0i3jv@verizon.net} There is an "alias" name for this box (at least, they say it will work), so try this one first (I'm just curious) :) \mail{roberts.home@verizon.net,roberts.home@verizon.net} Thanks again for all the support :) Charles R. P.S. don't ask me why there are no spaces between these paragraghs. Or what's going on with those email addresses.

Charles, want to sell the rims?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Charles R. (4.60.146.9) on Monday, July 23, 2001 - 10:54 pm:

Don's already got "dibs". By the way Don, I had the rim from the plowed corner spun on a balancer. It looks fine, no bends. Give me a little time guys, I'm still trying to settle into the new place. (read, where the hell did I put everything?):)

Don, any of the gear you feel is taking up too much room in your space can be unloaded on me OK?

Don't want to piss off your neighbors remember.

Drive safe and pay with cash always.

Ha, Ha! :)
I cleaned up the back yard, you would be proud only one Civic back there and it runs! It been a few weeks since I found a $50 1200. I think I'm going into withdrawals. The Neighbors like it though.

As for stashing things, my car is going back together, leaving all kinds of space just waiting to be filled.

I did stop by the bank too!

hey everyone ..
nasty accident ..
a question for don, the spare parts guru ..
or charles, the newly parting out guru ..

i'm looking for those cvcc gauges (you may have scooped of of charles ..) ..
i'm a deperate woman here!! let me know if your willing to part with them and at what cost!!

i have been recently motivated to mess around with my stock 78 1200 (almost stock .. put a 5 speed in last fall) ..
it is a sad thing to report, i will be dumping in an '83 EN1 ...( due to the 2 inch hole i blew in the 1200 last tuesday night ..)
don't get me wrong, the EN1 has a longer stroke and bigger pistons, and happens to have a GB 5speed (closer ratio) attatched to it, so i won't whine too much .. (at least i still have a back-end .. sorry about your misfortune charles)

isn't my stock baby anymore ..
so, BRING ON THE MODS!!!!
if you or anyone is willing to part with the cvcc gauge set, please consider me a worthy candidate ..
and, if anyone comes across a stock roof rack, i'll be standing in line ..

thanks guys ..
mo

Well friends, the trip to Charles was a good one, but he still has a ton of choice stuff left. Most of the things I got were cores, body parts & the wheels. Go4Mo I did not ask Charles if he had any CVCC tachs, I do have the dual gauge pod setup out of a CVCC. I sent you a E-mail. Well back out to finish unloading.
