My Civic had a bit of rust on the roof underneath the rubber stips. I fixed the rust and was just wondering what those chanels underneath the rubber strips are for, and can they be filled up.

I think that those chanels are to help make the roof more ridgid (the folded steel creates a beam I think)I have seen cars that have had them filled ,most likley with bondo or fiber glass. I personally like the stock look.
