I'm chugging along with my d16a6 swap and now I'm working of the front crossmember. I had to cut a ton of material out of it to clear the header and now I'm going to work on stiffening it back up. He're the question: What is the function of the front crossmember? Is it's main purpose for stength in tension, compression, shear, torsion, or bending? These characteristics will determine how I brace it. I would like some feedback from some experts on this one. I think I already know what I'm going to do, but I thought I'd ask. Having a mechanical engineering degree helps, but I don't have decades of race knowledge on my side. Thanks guys!
