I have change the crankshaft oil seal under the timing cover but it is still leaking afterward. Does anyone know why? Also I have installed a weber carb in my car but it is miss fire when I hit on the gas too hard. Could it be the wire, cap, or other electrical problem.

Could your misfire be classified as a slight hesitation? If so, try different size idle jets in your carb. Get a good Weber manual and it describes in detail how to tell if they are too rich or too lean.

So what you mean is I should adjust the idle screw to stop the hesitation because it seems like at foggy weather at night, it happens alot in high speed or high rpm.

I had a leak here too after doing up the engine and finally found that a incorrect seal had been fitted to the camshaft up top.

So, what you mean is should I get the crankshaft oil seal only in the dealer?

You can put in all the new seals you can afford but if the cam or crank is grooved it's fruitless! Try putting the seal in but not as deep as it should go, this will keep the lip away from the groove that's probably in the 'shaft'.....and the missfire sounds like a lean condition. Have you looked at your plugs? Is your secondary opening all the way on full throttle? You could have a clogged secondary jet

what kind of weber? 32-36 dgv series? I installed mine backwards so the primary can feed the aux port easy. I've even seen a hole drilled in the bottom of the primary throat to richen the aux port

So I should pull out the seal a little bit which may stop the leak? and my webber is a dgv. I guess is the carb problem and I have another one which run on water instead of electric. I think they are interchangeable right? I can just take out the front electric part and put into it. Will see if this will work out.

runs on water? You must mean thermostaticaly controled (or manual choke) instead of electric.....It all depends on how you 'pull' the seals out. There is a little spring that holds tension on the ID of the seal against the 'shaft', If you can pull it without damaging it only push it in about 1/3rd the way in and if there is still oil, pry in a little farther. (OK you guys don't give me any poop! It's cheap and works!)..about the carb: I called a place www.racetep.com and bought a jet set for mine and for 35.00 am happy as a lark. just give them all your stats on the engine and what it'll be used for. errol
