Has anyone done this swap?I am wondering which mounts to use and how to fabricate a bracket for the torque rod. Also, will a EB2 or EB3 head work on an EN block? If so which one would be best?Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thank You

EB3 is the best. Be sure to be on the lookout for hairline cracks between the valves, as this was a common EB3 fault. Probably the result of overheating, but who knows for sure...just look out for it. If the EN still has a head it should be an EB3 anyway. Early EB heads have threaded bosses on the head for the torque strut already, I don't know if the non-USA spec EN heads have them or not. I do know the casting bosses on the EN block to be slightly different than the early EB's...still useable though. By the way, the stock EN exhaust manifold flows better than the stock USA EB unit does...don't know if it will clearance in the 1st Gen body without mods however.

I am about to stick the EN block into my first gen... I'm glad to finally hear the head is basically EB3, it's a question I've been asking! I'm going to try using the manifold, it looks neat; more fluent and a bigger diameter with 3 instead of two nuts (I've had mufflers breaking off at that connection so that should help). I do however have all my stuff off a 1300S (1983). It came with the dual Keihin carbs, so maybe the exhaust manifold is different as well. Soon as I get my hands on a camera I'll post pics... It does have some huge thing around it that collects warm air for the intake. Chunk that away and what's left isn't much bigger than the original.

DO NOT USE 1200 EB HEAD WITH 1300 EN1 BLOCK - WILL HAVE HEAD GASKET FAILURES DUE TO COMBUSTION CHAMBER DESIGN. JUST MAKE BRACKET TO BOLT ONTO EN HEAD. EN1 EXH. MAN. WILL WORK WELL WITH LITTLE MODS. SWAP IS OTHERWISE STRAIGHT FORWARD

I put an EN1 motor into my EB3 recently. Very simple. Only mods really are for the torque rod and the lower mount. Just use the bracket that sits on top of the gearbox for the torque rod, and make up a torque rod of the right length by cutting a standard one down and rewelding it.

Or use an EB3 head - they're almost identical.

Lower mount needs a bit of extra clearance because of the bigger sump - just beat the sump with a hammer to clearance the mount.
