Have a 79 CVCC and wanna swap engines. Im in the Portland, OR area and so far have 4 choices: get a rebuilt 1200 for $300, a EK1 1800 used (108k) for $350, a used imported EK jap engine (43k) for $700, or that Jackson racing built motor Ive seen on the one dot two site for $695. Decisions, decisions. Suggestions? Also have a white 78' CVCC wagon in perfect condition except for a blown head gasket. Might consider selling it to someone that could get me a good deal on a decent engine and or install.

I as well am gong through aengine swap here in Oregon City. Maybe we could meet, and I have a running 1200 eb3 in a 78 hb. My wife would love the wagon. Give me a holler!

What condition is it in Sash? Mileage, problems, etc. Cause another option would be this: $300 for the wagon and the 1500 CVCC engine outta my Hatchback (105k mi), and maybe some advice on the swap. That way I could afford to get that rebuilt 1200 now, instead of a month. Tell me what ya think. Trying to make a daily driver/autoXer, and with everything I've read, the 1200 is probably the best way to go.
