This past weekend I met up with Travis and Justin so we could attend an import show in Seattle. Justin and his wife drove down in the Integra engined wagon and the Turbo II powered convertible. All I can say is WOW! The cars were just awesome. Justin's attention to detail is amazing while he's put together some really solid cars. I think Travis and I were really inspired. I took a couple pictures and will try to post them as soon as I figure it out... This was also the first Import show I'd been to, so I found myself drooling over a lot of cars. My personal favorites were the four Nissan Skylines and a group of Spoon Sports equipped Civic and Integra Type R's. Two of these Civics had "RS" emblems on them! Can anyone tell me where they got these things? They looked brand new. I'll post a pic. Anyway, I encourage everyone to try meeting up with fellow First Gen enthusiests. Come on Bay Area guys!

It was a blast, Justin and his wifes civic's were absolutly magnificent. Tim had a high quality camera as I am sure you can tell by the Skyline pics, but the lighting in the camp ground the civic's were parked in just do not do them justic. These two cars were something I would truly love to be able to lay my eyes on everyday. And I can only hope my project car comes out half as nice as theirs. Thanks for coming down guys (and gal :) ), and you too Tim, nice being able to talk with fellow first gen people. I look forward to future get togethers.

Yeah, the the convertible pictures do it no justice. The car is just unreal. Oh, and if I recall correctly Jason said the vert weighs in at 1335 pounds! Jason, was I hearing things? Um, "Power to weight ratio?"

That's just freaky, how do you like the ER turbo motor Justin?

It's REALLY good, The boost is running at the stock 12psi right now, I'm having a front mounted intercooler built(and i'm also adding water injection)with that done i'll boost it up to 16psi.

Ps: it's still tows good..with the car and trailer loaded up with camping gear it will still do 160(km/h) up hills!!

Justin, Who's Yellow civic in the line-up... Same color I have planned for mine. But man your civic's are nice. I wish I lived up there so you could give me some "help" with my project.

The Competition Corvette Yellow '79 cvcc belongs to Will Ho, it runs a EL with a 5sp and a webber carb and it rides on 12" factory mags painted white

I recommend not going with water injection. 16psi will be fine with a boost cut lifter. If you have a decent exhaust you should find that it already hits boost cut (14.7psi) especially since you do not have the restrictive T2 intercooler on it. Is your factory boost control system hooked up properly? Are you running 2.5 inch from the turbo back?

How amazingly smooth is the idle?

Your the expert..it hits the 14.7 but i have a external HKS boost control hooked up to only run at 12psi, the intercooler is from a renault feugo but it's under the hood, so it gets to hot for it under there. The stock system is hooked up and yes it has 2.5 inch exhaust from the turbo..

Two words, envy/inspiration.
What size rims on the blue civic? There is an old Z600 at a yard near me I always wanted to turn into a tow behind-it would be light too. But what would you do with that ugly black plastic hatchback?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Travis (24.4.254.128) on Thursday, August 09, 2001 - 08:48 pm:

The blue civic has 17"s on it, for more info on that car do a search foR 17" Wheels. And the red Wagon at the end of the line has 99-00 15" civic SiR (SI) rims. Which even the 15"s look quite large. For a long time I was looking into maybe going 16"s on mine, but after seeing the convert. with the 13" panasports I feel in love with them and will probably do the same, they just fit the car so well, both for looks and size. Justin I will be up there again sometime soon to check up on you ..hehe. As I need all the inspiration I can get.

Which box did you end up using? 14.7 is pretty damn good for an old civic don't you think with a lot more potential to come.

JMS, thanks, i would think about the Z600 as a tow vehicle, but here in Canada i've never seen one! If you do it just fiberglass a trunk style lid for it.

Charles, it's just awesome!! the only problem i run into is when it hits boost in First gear the tires break loose and if you shift quick enough you can keep it going right thru second!! What do u mean box?
