Ok. I've just parted with some stuff of mine and now have roughly $1000 to fix up my 79 CVCC HB.
Question: What should I do?!?!?
The 1500's head gasket is blown now, so it leaves my options open. Rebuild what I have? Do a swap?
Basicaly, what can a guy get with limited expearience (anyone out there willing to help??), and $1000?
Hey, its eaither this...or a down payment for something at a used car lot! *cringe*
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan

If I'm not mistaken, the 1751cc out of an early accord and maybe prelude should fit in there. I'll bet you could find one at a salvage yard for quite a bit under a grand. Do the swap, and put some shorter coils on your car. That's what I'd probably do in your position.
(actually I'd still build a 1200 turbo, see other post, because the cvcc has a larger engine compartment, but I try to be just a little different than everybody, and it's not my primary mode of transportation)
But since it's either this or a down payment, I'd do the 1751 swap, I strongly considered it for a long time, but decided against it. Don't recall why.

Jonathan, I am just about finished with the EK1 swap and am looking forward to it. What I am getting at is I would go after that EK1 you found and try to hagle on that price. $550 or $600. Spend the rest on other under the hood things. It has been VERY easy!
