If i had constantly worked on it, it would only have taken me 3weeks, but of course the chroming the painting etc etc takes time..I will have it running by the end of the weekend, and then i'll post more pics of the finished project!

Justin
Ps: i have to cut down the size of the pics to reload them again

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By 2low2go (24.69.255.204) on Monday, September 03, 2001 - 08:41 am:

The cooling system is from a VW rabbit, it fits with building new mounts for it. The color is from the 2002 subaru wrx, It's called World Rally Blue.

The word drool was a good way to express it! Just out of curiousity, do you know of any places that would be able to do the custom front tube frame to make up my engine bay? Just thought it might be cheaper up there. I included a pic of where I stand... Thanks again

There are not words to express the beauty of your machine. Do you dare to drive it? or are you satisfied to just polish it daily.

Ted, I'll have more pics up in a few days...Ramon, actually the posi marks are from the 78' civic with the 17's and crx motor...I must say with sorrow i had to do one more burn-out with the 5sp..the new owner of the car is getting me to put in a auto(drive's in the city and can't stand driving a standard in traffic)...Travis, Their is a place in Richmond that i deal with called SNK's Race It, they built my custom six point cage for the convertible i'll check to see what a custom tube front-end would cost ya...Zippy, the car will be a daily driver for my sister-inlaw ( and if she let's him my brother-inlaw).....

Justin, Sounds good man I appriciate it.. How much did they charge you for the Six-point, again I am sure you told me when you were here but I forgot. As I will probably be going the same roll bar set-up as her Convert. , The six point with out the intusive side door bars. Well thanks again.

Hi
What header do u use,does a B16A header fit a D15B engine(is't wrapped in a termo wrap),and what mounting do u use,

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By 2low2go (24.69.255.204) on Thursday, September 06, 2001 - 08:43 am:

The header on the blue one is a original Mugen header designed for my ZC motor, but the blue one being a 1600cc aswell, the spacing is the same, so i used it on this car. No a b-series header will not fit you D15, you will have to find a header thats's specific for your motor. All of the engine mounts are custom built..

Those bumbers are screaming "paint me body color".
Say Justin, someone on the web page told me you have a source for good prices on wheel bearings...please tell me it's so.

John, my brother-inlaw might paint them, but he likes the look of the black, (and yes i get good deals on Bearings..whatcha need?)

Travis, that's cool that you found some Innocenti's on the net!!

Zoin, I found the bumpers at a local autowrecker one day, and i pulled them and then went to a 78' civic that was there and test fit them to it..They fit with a little mods to them!

It took me so long to respond to this ad because I was wiping my puddle of drool.

How did you guys paint your cars? Did you a frame up "resto-mod."

Also, what's a good what to get rid of a bunch of rust. The worst part on my car is my battery shelf. It still looks strong but there is rust everywhere.

JUSTIN 2LOW, please help,
i installed a vw GTI radiator thinking it was the same set up as yours but its not. mine seems to be a little smaller, with 2 hose connections on the passenger side but with NO rad cap fill spout! i pulled it not realizing this but i installed it anyways just for now. is yours modified with some filler spout i see there in the picture or does yours have one? i just filled it with the top hose taken off at the thermostat housing. could you also describe your bracket mouting method also? and what year was the rad?
sorry for a long post and thanks way in advanced.

Kelly,

the rad that is in the blue civic is the same as yours. Justin put an aftermarket filler neck in the top rad hose (the filler neck is made by a company called CSI) and to mount the top of the rad he used aluminum strapping. I'll get Justin to post the exact measurements of the strapping and the way he did the bottom mounts because I can't remember what they look like.

Hey I'd like to know where exactly you FOUND an Innocenti Mini DeTomaso?!?!?! It's rare enough I see a normal Mini, although someone in the neighborhood now has a Riley Elf.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Twyla (24.69.255.202) on Sunday, December 16, 2001 - 08:52 am:

The Innocenti was a lucky find at a local autowrecker.

Was the entire Innocenti there or just the bumper? I would drive there just to look at it.
