i recently put a new head gasket and water pump on my 1200 and the 2 of the pistons were sooty, kinda burnt residue film. (#s 1&4)
would this be oil from bad rings or valve seals? the plugs were really fouled also.
any help would be great

i plan on a full stroker swap and rebuild when the money is there, i just want to get the thing running first. peace

Ignore it. Don't fix it unless it's broken. Pretend you didn't see it. Unless it is really bad it is probably unimportant. At least that is how I would handle it.
