Hey Everyone! I Wanted to thank you all for the great info you all post....it has been very educational! I recently bought a 78 civic Hatchback with a 1200 engine...the engine smokes big time though and I need to figure out what I want to do! I have read so many things about swapping engines and trannies but am wondering if the engine and tranny (5 Spd) from a 78 prelude would fit....I found one at the bone yard on the weekend! And info you can give me is greatly appreciated!

thanks

Jeffery Mooney

It will fit into the 1200 engine bay very nicely. I have a cvcc with an 81 prelude moter in it. the motor mounts should be the same , but I do think that for the 1200 engine bay you can all the mounts except for one. For my CVCC I can use all of them. I do plan to sell my motor soon, I have full race cams and a weber carb, with MSD but I think I'll keep that.

Cheers
Wil

Wil,

Thanks for the tip...Glad to hear the '80-'81 engins will fit too! What will you be asking for your engine? Whay are you selling it? I might be interested...I want to buy one that I know is in good running order....I hate gambling!

Jeffery
