noone except for a friendly few seems to want to help me...
is it because you all are unfamiliar with me?
or no one personally knows me?
i cant figure it out
but when i do get helped i appreciate it.. guess i'll start doin things strictly on my own if noone wants to help... i have access to 4 extra cars that are for parts 2 1200's, 1 1300, and a first gen accord well i guess we'll see if anyone wants to read this either

What kind of post is that?? :)
Daniel, the best way to learn about the early Civics is to read the previous posts and get the factory repair books and read them. If there is something you don't understand go to the library or a book store and read some general automotive training books. This will keep you busy for a while. No website can make you a mechanic, you have to put forth some serious effort into learning. While probably not the answer you are looking for, you will benefit much more from this course of action, rather than relying on some one else's knowledge (some times others are incorrect) and when your done you can build all sorts of cool project cars, not just Hondas + help out all your friends fix their cars.

Daniel

I think most people are willing to help anybody. Sometimes it's harder to ask for help than it is to give it. That's why we're here... To help others and to hopefully get help in return.

If nobody answered your question, there's a chance nobody knows. I'm good with electronics, and I enjoy watching the car-fix-up shows on Sunday. When it comes to giving advice, I'll do what I can, but it's a little frustrating when the person asking hasn't tried to get the information himself. However, help will usually be given. Also we all have different schedules and priorities in our lives. We all can't be here all the time.

We're all here to have fun and do what we love. Nobody is here to ignore or keep score against others. Have fun :)

Darrell

What are you talking about... poor poor me (noone is not a word). I have no idea what you're talking about but I am interested in the 1300 if it's a CVCC. And, if you did a post where you said you were parting out a 1300 cvcc, go look at it.... I wrote back twice. You never replied.

My bad, Jim "somethineranother" wrote the first post saying he had a 1300cvcc he was getting rid of and never replied to me. But, I'm still interested and will give you any information I have.

hey daniel,
this phase will pass because i know your frustration. i was new to the 1200 game just only a few months ago, but now im fully in the swing of things getting my 79 in shape.
i recently found a weber 32/36 at my local junkyard for $15!
the parts can be found and you will have so much fun putting pieces from other makes/models into your car.
rigging up stuff is where its at.
i just put seats from a 95(i think) isuzu stylus into it, surely they didnt fit to the civic bolt pattern, but thats why they make sawzalls for the minor "adjustments" to make them fit.
you have to understand that the people on this board ARE here to help, i check this board daily to see whats going on, and to read old posts.
Nobody is shunning you believe me.
i just went to my first ever auto-x and i met todd, bill, and matt, all are great guys even though it was wierd meeting people from a discussion page for the first time.
plus they gave all sorts of tips and tricks and were glad to show all the ins and outs of their own cars.

dont be discuraged and take care
kelly

well the thing is i work at a local honda race shop in albemarle NC (usa) and so i am really good with most of the things on this board... i have the car fully disassembled and i did my own 4x100 conversion the way you guys do it is just too confusing getting all the parts but all i dad was use the hubs (and hub cap) which the hub presses into and use the bearings that were in the crx upright they are the exact same size but i still have to get the wagon uprights so that the calipers will fit easilyi admit i am am really recent to this site and younger than everyone here (16) but i am about the same mechanical skills as you gentlemen... well i just try to vent any anger i get cause i do get frustrated and i have this site almost all read completely... and printed most of it for the days when i am away from the computer ;) but i guess i am still a rookie to you guys

So let me get this straight, in the first post you are crying cause no one will help you with the car and in your last post you say you have the "mechanical skills of us gentlemen" ?? Just checking.

I think your posts not getting answered have more to do with the way you write your posts than anything else.

I'm located in Corvallis Oregon, I called 22 different salvage yards within a 200 mile radius and found 1 1300cvcc short block a long ways away. If I have to I'll drive and pull the block (have to do it myself). But, I'd rather get a good one from somebody on the board who knows something about crankshafts.
Also looking for EB3 head (I can probably find that myself), and brand new 74mm 1500cvcc pistons.

Jacob... did you call Airport Auto Salvage in Portland? (503) 281-9788 They aren't the sharpest tools in the shed on the phone, but if you can head north maybe we could hook up and make a trip out there some day?

I need to see if I can find a good '81 EK1 head and cam. I need to rebuild a head to I can pull my current head and port and polish and snazz up my current head.

drop me a line.

The name actually sounds familiar (I did the calling a couple months ago). I checked my paper that I wrote everything down on, I called them but didn't write anything down (maybe the line was busy, or closed). Anyway, I'll give them another call. I'd be game for gettin' together and doin' a little salvage hunting.

I just never have any spare time. We'll see if maybe we can't work something out though.
