Since I last made an appeal for money donations for the board I have only gotten 6 payments. I have decided that making the board private would not work.
I am afraid that I cannot afford to pay what Hypermart is demanding every month (it was $40US this month). I am very dissapointed that people cannot help out with money. As a result I will have to switch the board back to have pop up ads.
Thank you to the people that did donate (that money was used to barely pay my monthly fees for last month and this month). I wish that we could have raised enough to upgrade the board but it appears not.

Richard,
I'm afraid you're right. A public board is incompatible with donations. A few people will end up paying for everything. If you limit content for non-members then the board becomes less useful to all of us. The pop-ups sucked but we can live with them. Besides, didn't somone mention that they had a program that eliminated the pop-ups?

If you want to donate still.. I can only keep the board pop-up free for as long as I can pay my hosting fees. So that means if everyone pitches in we can keep it pop-up free. But it's hard since my web hosting company has my credit card so they charge me for all the extra trafic that I am getting. The trick here is not getting a little bit of donations over a long period of time but a lot at once so instead of just paying the extra fees I can upgrade and get rid of the extra fees. I only want to accept paypal. Here is the link to donate for the board: CLICK HERE TO DONATE

Since the chances of a huge amount of money pouring in are slim to none, Could you take steps to limit the posts to just text and very very small pictures? If someone wanted a bigger picture they could be e-mailed directly.
Also Ted's idea of posting the names of the people that do pay the freeloaders may have some incentive to step up.

What is the "a lot" amount? If we saw a goal we could work for maybe that would help. Also please help me understand what this upgrade would be and how would it make things cheaper and better?
Thanks

Thanks guys for the donations.. I have about $130. I need about $100 more to cover the rest of the costs for the year. Once we get this covered I promise there will be no more begging for at least a year.

Again I think that if you put a running total, people would strive for the goal. We are all competive by nature.
