Help, I am looking at getting a 1996 Honda ascot but I have never seen the 5 cylinder 2.0 or 2.3 liter motors, can anyone shed any light on these for me?
are they any good as far as reliability and performance goes?
thanks in advance,

Ray.
ps yes I also own a 77 1200 hondamatic.

Man, this sucks!!Everybody outside the U.S. gets all the cool cars. Sorry about that, but it's true!! Anyhow, that sounds like our acura vigor/2.5TL. Yes, mounted north/south, but still front wheel drive. Engine is an inline 5 cy. Great motor, exhaust sounds funny(5 instead of 4 cyls)Differential is separate from trans, left axle has a carrier shaft that goes thru the oil pan (cast aluminum pan) All in all a great car. Any more questions??

i know the 5 cyl motor was only offered from 94-96? it was designed to have the torque of a 6 cyl. but with the economy mileage of the 4 cyl.
it never caught on and they replaced it with the 3.2 v6 i believe. aftermarket parts were nonexistant for the 5 cyl. as far as i know so tuning is going to be limited.

good luck,
kelly
