Hey all,
I have the oppurtunity to pick up a transmission from an 82 accord for my 78 civic. But the guy does not know the engine # so I am unsure if I am getting an EN transmission (the one I know works) Is there any ID #'s on the transmission that would tell me what I am getting?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

If it's out of an Accord then no, it's not an EN box. The 'EN' is a Civic. You can use the Accord box, but only if you use a Civic bellhousing.

Personally I wouldn't use the Accord box. Firstly it's not absolutely guaranteed to fit (sometimes the innards simply don't line up with the Civic bellhousing for some reason) and secondly it'll be geared very tall. Go find yourself an EN Civic box (preferably an 80 or 81 model as 82+ ones have pretty tall gears as well), you'll save yourself a lot of hassle...
