Calling for knowledgeable US car heads. I have a GM wastefire coil pack on my motec civic. The coil pack has died and no Australian cars came out with the GM DFI wastefire "smartpack". So it must have come out on a US 4cyl (or 2 on an 8cyl). The part numbers are COIL part number is CM12-101 (16128338), Whole smart pack 1H08-9846 (21020180). Anyone with any contacts for these things would be much appreciated, they are from about 8-15years ago.

GM came out with two such Coil packs (slightly different styles). If you post a picture I can get you the cost and they have them in stock.
I just helped me friend put an Electomotive injection and DIS ignition on a Jeep this weekend.
It too had the GM coilpacks.

Cheers Don,

I have taken some pics, but do not have the software on this machine to get them off to you.

I will try tonight at home.

There are two coils that plug into a heat sink and coil expander. The coil expander has two sockets (military style) at the top (six and five pin). Each coil looks like a transformer with a solid external loop linked to earth points at the bottom of each coil. On the side one has IG29 and the other IG23 though they appear to be the same and have the same part numbers on the back.

Each coil plugs into the expander with only two pins found at the bottom of the coils.

The high tension terminals are at the top of each coil (other side to the earth) and they are offset to the left from centre.

Hope this helps with ID

Sounds like the same ones the electomotive systems uses. This is good cause they are also the least expensive. If you cant get a picture up I can take the digital camera to work and snap a picture of the coil I think it is. They fail so often we keep both styles in stock so we dont have to wait for the parts house.

They have the loop going straight accross at 90 degrees to the body of the coil, not diagonally like the loop around some of the electromotive coils I have seen. I might be able to get any waste fire coil to work though.

You dont have to go adapting, I'm sure I can get the right one. I will go searching at work tomorrow.
