Hey Mo.
I used to live in CA as a kid.
I wanted to recommend a few sites. San Luis Obispo is a great place to visit. My favorite thing to do is to grab a frozen yogurt and visit Gum Ally. It's an ally filled with gum from every tourist in the past 20 years. Then you can walk across the creek and go to the San Luis mission. There might be some type of festival going on there if not it's still great to see.
If you care for a dip. I recommend Avila beach. If you care to do it with an extra breeze, there's a local spot called Pirate's Cove...a nude beach about 10 minutes from Avila beach.
I grew up in Atascadero, Ca. (Atascadero = Mudhold in Spanish)
Just so you know, If you drive down the 101 you should see a bell on the side of the highway every few miles. There should be a sign on it that says "El Camino Real." That sign is there to remind the drivers that they are driving on an old mission trail. The trail led missionaries from mission to mission, but its now the highway.
For a wonderful view you should drive on the 1. It is right along the ocean side.
Hope this helps you to appreciate CA. I also drove the same routes from from Portland, Or to CA.
Darrell
PS I can't seem to post messages as ddechon, but it will work if I type Darrell in the username block.

Anybody seen or heard from Mo?
She was going to stop by my place this weekend but had a problem with a front hub. Last I heard she was still headed down, but so far no Mo.

hey all ..
sorry for not checkin in soooner ..
the hub is fixed .. pulled the old one and slapped on a new on ..
hooped my back in the process (flare up from last months injury)
.. so, i decided i'll wait until i can actually sit in a car without heavy medication .. kind of interferes with staying on the road and all ..
so, i'll keep track of everyone and we can try this again in the new year!! ..
if anyone wants to convoy, let me know!
cheers for now .. look forward to meeting everyone!
