Has any of our fellow readers ever heard of these guy's? They where based out of Woodland Hills ,Ca in the earlie 80's. It was owned and operated by the Shaw's. Thanks to Natcho for getting me off my but to get my car on the road this weekend I went to get my exaust fixed. While B.S.ing with the guy I noticed some custom fiberglass fenders lying around his shop. So happens to be the shop next door is owned by Don Shaw (the son). He wasn,t there but behind a 40's ford COE is a fully prepped 77 civic race car. I then find out they still have three race cars left and a 40 foot trailer full of parts parked in field on some friends property. He say's there are Ray Jay turbo's, headers, carbs, custom wheels, a couple fully preped blocks , and mugen dif's. I am working a deal on the race car at the shop right now. The problem is they only want to sell everything as a package deal. The trailer, cars, and all the parts. Anybody ever here of these guys?

No, but if I had a place to park the stuff and a little extra dough layin' around I'd snatch it up in a second. I've kind of grown to love these little cars.

That's the problem I have a place, but it's a bit more than a little dough. The one car alone is in the 3k to 4k range.

Hey Ramon, I'd like to get a phone number. I might be interested in taking the whole package.

As soon as I get a # I will let you know. I just left my # to give to his partner. The partner is the brother of the owner and not around much from what I here. I may zip on by this evening again just to check up. The whole package includes the 40 foot gooseneck trailer, one ton truck, and cars. He say's there is over 40k invested. I think they are gonna want some real cash$$$$$$. I was kinda shocked at how much for just the one car.

I'm drooling. Seriously! Ask if they'll let you do inventory before you buy, THEN CALL ME!!! (That goes for you too, Todd!) Maybe they'd like to have a yard sale?

They will play hell trying to find anyone with that much cash willing to invest it in all that old Honda stuff. Their only real option is to sell it out to guys like us pieces at a time. The demand simply is not great enough to justify that level of capital investment, and you can bet they know it too. Otherwise they would have sold it by now.

John
You will be surprised what people will hang on to.
(Want a complete set of SCCA National Championship gt5 Renaults and parts, package deal only :))

They are obviously not desperate for money, so I think Ramon is right. They may sell but you will pay! They were in the business remember. I think If people start low balling them they will just stop talking to people.

I know, after I put these Gt5 cars on E-bay people kept e-mailing me with the " I'm the only one interested" attitude. One guy was so unreasonable and rude. My e-mailed reply was "Cheap A$$ Ba$tard" We put the cars together and will just run them and have fun.

Just an update no word from the owner yet. I am getting closer to a deal for the one car. They are all gt5 cars from 1987. This car is completely costom fabricated from the ground up and sounds like a monster. There is no seat in it so I can't test drive it.

anyone on the board with that much dough??
.. i'd love to get my hands on some of their stuff .. perhaps we should all gather and go down and visit them ... pick up a bunch of stuff in one shot ..
or maybe, someone (ahem!!) who lives close by (ahem!) could convince them to let him be an "agent" of sorts ..
just a thought ..

That's what I meant, they will not give it away. No one with enough money to buy all of it will pay what they will want for it because they would want to make a profit when they sell the parts off. You would need to get all of the stuff incredibly cheap to assure you would see a return on your time and investment, as with all business you have to know you'll end up setting on a lot of the stuff, and even perhaps dumping all but the really choice parts. Thus the origional owners will be better off to re-inventory the parts, and sell them of themselves.

I agree with John, though the whole story is so fantasic we're all scared to lose out on the deal. This is exactly what happens when I find some guy with civic-parts or sumthin else I wanna buy....suddenly everything is worth huge amounts! Untill you wanna sell something caus you need the cash....suddenly it has all gone down in price again! This car-world is full of people who smell that we are serious about their parts, and thus know that we're the kind of people that will pay if we can. So it's a business thing; ya gotta play it hard, act like it's you helping them get rid of this old stuff, and say you still have to see if there is anybody left who is interested! I am not good at this sport, but I always thought things were cheap when bought wholesale! They can't have it both ways, selling everything for huge prices....
Maybe you can be the contact for all of us, tell them you have plenty of people backing you with orders, and so you can help them get rid of it all.. if that aint good enough.. Oh yeah, tell these people it is not the most wealthy of people who drive/race/fix these old civics, so good luck finding someone....

I got a call from Don Shaw on Friday and I am meeting with him this week somtime. I will be picking up my new race car in two weeks. He was really a nice guy and seems to be willing to part some of this stuff out. We are meeting to arange a place to store the trailer either at my uncles or my house. I told him I would gladly go threw the trailer, unload all the trash and take it to the dump, inventory all parts, store all the parts, and mediate all sales. He sounded very open to my sugestions, so we will see soon. He really wants Honda people to have this stuff. I will let everyone know as soon as possible. He also mentioned there is a motor in there that runs backwards for a formula one car. To be mounted inline behind the driver. That one has over 10K alone in it. He tells me it can be reversed to run in our cars. Sounds crazy huh???? I have to tell ya this stuff has been keeping me up every night since I found this out. Now this is the funny part, I have been driving by this place for the last 6 years!!!!!
