The RS and GL is a Non-USA Civic 1200 model.
Dont worry if you cant find one, The 1200 can be made to kick tail too!

The RS/GL engine has been well and truly discussed-to-death in previous discussions. PLease use the "Keyword Search" function over on the left ...

I have performed the search you speak of and found info only on identifying the motors by serial #'s. I know this but I still couldn't find any answers to the q's in my previous message.. Can anyone help me out?

Ok, the RS/GL was a pepped up version of the 1200. Both had slightly domed EB-1 pistons, better than stock rods, and a baffled oil pan. They came with an EB-3 like head (meaning valve size) and it seems that they had much cleaner ports than any 1200 head. The GL came with a bit more camshaft than stock but all else (carb and exhaust) was stock. The RS had a bigger cam than the GL and came with the twin sidedraft KeiHins and 4-2-1 exhaust manifold. And yes it did make about 70 HP. As far as I know all RS/GL cars were EB-1. The years for EB-1 vary from country to country so I'm not sure if they made them any year other than 73. The obvious benefit would be more power without added weight.
