i dont have dual sidedrafts but i thought about using that wonderful scoop on our first gens.
i wanted to somehow route some of the "ram air" from it with some flexible ducting/tubing or something to the air cleaner or whatever.
it could work i think...

hey kelly ..
ya, i think so too ..
it would reqire going throught the wall there as the hood sits flush on that rubber seal...
i can't believe that scoop is for those interior vents only!!

one thing i'm concerned about though is moisture. it's prett exposed.
maybe putting some type of net or webbing on the inside of the scoop grill would help ..
i don't know .. just thinkin ..
also, it might seem as simple as it seems ..(?) .. but, is setting up the vacuum to the pipe as easy as it appears? is there a catch>?
cheers
mo

Hey Mo...
the vent is also for the heater, so if you take air from this area you might affect the heater output which is pretty pathetic already....
jsut a thought though and I maybe wrong.....

i thougth there was a fresh/recirculate lever on the dash to use outside or inside air as the heater source? ive used it before but never really felt a difference. my heater works well enough i usually have to turn it back a notch. anyways just a ramble...

ya there is a recirc/fresh lever ..
you definitely want to keep it on frsh .. nrecirc tends to fog things up )in colder cimates at any rate)
i don't think it would interfere with the flow that much .. depending on where in taht pocket and what kind of filter used ..

What about kick-back from the carbs and whatnot leaking into the passenger compartment? The rubber seal around that area on my Honda blew out last year, and it was a total mess. EVERYTHING inside the car smelled like it had been sitting in the engine compartment, and I wound up sucking in a lot of exhaust. (Even with the vents closed and the heater turned off). I'd route the intake to the front of the car, despite the fact that the scoop looks perfect. You could even route intakes through the firewall to either side, inside the fender, behind the shock assembly, and out the front. In fact, the stock CVCC intake is something like that, but only to one side. I suppose you could use the existing hood scoops if you were carefull about blocking off the fresh air vents/heater intake, but that would probably be more trouble than it was worth on a street car. Just thought I'd weigh in.
