Mo, I posted this pic somewhere else on the board,
muffler
It's a "Thrush" mini turbo by DynoMax with a chrome tip. I like it, nice sound and of course the price is right. The only problem that I had with it is that it's a universal muffler, and one of the welds broke. But that's not the mufflers fault! I also have a Ansa free flow muffler with 2" dual chrome tips, This one is cool becuase it was made for the CVCC and it has all the stock mounting points and brackets... for sometime down the road...

I went rummaging through my old receipts, and all it says is Mini Turbo, but the box had "Thrush" on it and the little woodpecker with a mohawk and a cigar all over it. I can get the dimensions for you tonight and post. The one you mention above doesn't sound right.

I think the company is Thrush, and they sell for about 17 bucks at Summit Racing. I have one on the car and the sound is pretty loud, but the muffler opens things up a lot and lets the spent exhaust drift away. Deep roar and some brat-brat-brat when you coast down through the middle rev range. I don't have a tip on mine.

i would like to do the header and exhaust system soon but i really, i mean really hate that lawnmower/chainsaw sound of mufflers coming out these days.
i would like it kinda quiet actually without the brat-brat-brat resonance, but deep sounding. i know i cant make it sound like my old 350 chevy with dual flowmasters, but kinda like that. any ideas, i really dont want to go through a dozen mufflers to find the right one.
thanks

A recent article in one of the compact car mags said to use a long glasspack as a resonator. it will quiet things down without adding backpressure. My '80 Civic hb had a 24" glasspack, 2" pipe & a generic "turbo" muffler. It was quieter than any other set up I had tried & the torque was better than with the glasspack only.

I also use the thrush mini turbo muffler and I was pulled over by RCMP and was told it was too loud i had to installl a resonator in were the original stock one was and that made it sound quieter now my exhaust has the perfect note to it... oh yaa my exhaust has a header and 2"pipe. But for the money the mini turbo muffler is a great way to go, unless you just want to get another stock one they are availble at crappy(can) tire for like 30-40 bux i think.
