Can someone send me an accuratly sized picture of a 1200 carb base gasket. I am interested in seeing if it is the same as my EL-1 carb base. Thanks Dennis

yup they should be the same because i bought an adapter to put a 32/36 on my 1200 and the adapter fit onto an EL-1 when i put the weber on that motor later on

I was at 'that' machine shop again and found a old Holley two barrel (on a old VW manifold) and got it for 25.00. I called up wy weber friends and they said it's a Holley 'bugspray' (?)
It's a non- progressive type and looks justas easy to work on as the webers. He looked at the base gasket and said it looks real close.. But it's about 2" taller. I have a extra 1200 manifold and I'm going to weld up a thick base and mount it to see if it works. (Just in case that Dual Kehnin setup don't)
If you guys are having trouble finding a good weber, This could be another good choice. And they should be kinda cheap.
Just remember 'both barrels open at once'!!

Good Find !
Another option is the Holley license built copies of the Weber 32/36 2 barrel. Most of the US automakers used them in one form or another from 1971-1986.
I like the Holley 5200. I have used the 5200 #R6477 from a 1973 Chevy 2.3L for several years. The flow rating is 270 CFM, some of the later models used a 23mm primary venturi instead of 26mm and only flowed 235 CFM.
The Holley 5210 and 6510 may work as well.
There are still rebuild kits available for the "Bugspray" carb.

while on the 32-36 topic, what jetting numbers are you guys using for a stock 1200 motor and for a modified motor? i plan to put mine in soon.
thanks
