Are all 1st gen rear windows the same size? I just spent more money than I care to admit on a set of louvers that the guy swears up and down came off a 1st gen special X. The top fits ok but they dont go all the way to the bottom of the glass! GRRR

There was a gold painted louver on e bay for 20 bucks or so but the auction expired without bids. I bet you could e mail them and see if they would still sell it. Offer less than they asked for it at first. You never know, you might get a deal. I found a louver on e bay last week......it gets here next week:)

Honda produced two types of louvers for the 1st G civics, there is the full model style and the 1/2 window style for the special X models as they have rear window wipers on the hatch, and to allow full movement of the wiper they took the bottom of the louvers

Hello all....

Anyone know about the quality and fit of the Kogel brand louver?, thats the one I ordered. It's not here yet. I also noticed that Honda offered a rear window washer and that Majestic Honda has all the parts for it quite cheaply, are those hard to install? I don't know if it would work very well without a wiper though.

Hey Ed

I found it on E-Bay. The auction had ended but I e mailed the seller and asked if they still had it. They said they had it and I offered them a lower price and they took it.....hehe. It should get here tomorrow. I found another louver on E-Bay that was painted gold....kinda tacky for my taste but it can be repainted I guess. The price was 20 bucks. The auction expired, but the seller may still have it. You might get a deal. Good luck finding a louver.....Eric

I got to louver today. It's not quite what I expected. Instead of the mounts like the Datsun Z and Toyota Corolla ones that I have seen which have bolt on hinges and clip retainers, where the one for my Honda has brackets that slide under the window seal. It is made of thin ABS plastic.....which is ok because ABS is supposed to be strong. It is flexible, which is also good because the way it mounts, it wraps around the curvature of the rear glass. I think I will put it on this way, and put some RTV silicone glue around where the brackets go in the window seal so it won't leak. Will it help to heat up the rubber seal with a heat gun or hair dryer to make the rubber more flexible? I'm tempted to make the right mounts to put it on right but I think it will fit right if I mount it like the instructions say. Thanks all......Eric
