alright, when i got my 78 1200 it did not have a windshield wiper fluid system - no tubes, no sprayers, no reservoir. anyway, so i went to the junkyard, and acquired all of it. i put it in. so now i have a windshield washer. but where the hell is the reservoir supposed to go? it was plugged into the right wiring harness when i pulled it, so it wasn't hard to hook it up in my car, and it works fine, but the reservoir was laying on the battery tray when i found it and i couldn't figure out where it's suppossed to go so it's kinda resting on the brake system right now. where is it supposed to go?

I assume you got one of the bag types (the correct one). There should be 2 holes in the flap at the top of the bag. The proper battery holddown bracket has 2 tabs that you poke through these holes and the bag sits against the battery.

I hate those pee pee bag things. If your 78 is like mine you will have a plastic bottle that goes behind the left headlight. It mounts on a v shaped bracket that you might be missing. The bracket mounts inside the left fender wall right behind the headlight with 2 bolts and your bottle should slide right into it. You can see mine in this older picture. Its the white plastic bottle that you see in the top left corner of the picture.

is the standard hold-down plastic or metal?

It is plastic covered metal.

Yes, the bracket is a plastic-covered metal. It goes across the top of the battery and I painted mine bright orange because it was all rusted up and the plasic was 90% already mising. I was pulling parts off of a '77 wagon, and I *think* it had the bag and bracket system...

Becks, That is hilarious. My battery hold down hook arm once fell into the radiator fan also. It made such a racket that I thought something really really bad happend! Just a lot of noise.

Anyone tried putting pee in that bag? I've heard that it makes a great window cleaning agent. Takes off all that road grime and scum no problem...
